INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Installation is the same for upflow, counterflow and hori-
zontal operating positions.

1. Remove access cover from heater control box.

2. Remove air handler unit access panel.

3. Install the electric heat accessory. To prevent damage,
carefully pass the accessory heating element thru the
rectangular opening in the discharge duct. Heating ele-
ment support rods must be seated in holes on the op-
posite side of discharge duct.

4. Align holes and fasten the accessory to the air handler
unit with screws provided with the accessory. Fasten in
4 locations shown in Fig. 1.

5. Install field wiring per system wiring diagram and the
electrical data shown in Table 1.

6. Connect blower motor speed taps per air handler unit
installation instruction and wiring diagrams.

NOTE: Motor leads are held to the blower by a plastic
tie. Do not disturb tie.

7. Mark an X in the appropriate box on the indoor unit
data plate for the particular supplementary heater
installed.

8. Reinstall covers.
9. When heater accessory contains circuit breakers, re-
move knockouts in air handler unit access panel and
mount circuit breaker access plate with two screws
provided.

10. Adjust blower motor speed to provide air flow to
heaters within limitations shown in Table 2. Refer to
air handler unit installation instructions for additional
air flow data.

NOTE: The electric heaters have a limit control in series
with each heater element which consists of an
automatically recycling limit and a one time limit
enclosed in a single housing. This combination
limit control must be replaced with a direct re-
placement if failure occurs.

11. If thermostat used has an adjustable heat anticipator,
see Table 3 for proper setting.
