Projected Maintenance Requirements
Balcony floors, complete replacement
All offices have been re-vamped (doors moved) and repainted
by maintenance crew this past year. Offices and auditorium
are now air conditioned and heated. Ceiling in auditorium
was lowered and new lights installed.
FIVE YEAR MAINTENANCE
This would include installation of new plumbing and
drains, etc. No estimate can be made but the leading
plumbing company in town estimates as high as $10,000.00.
The roof and gutters are in need of repairs, with an
estimated cost of $1,000.00.
The concrete floor on the ground floor of St. George
Street section (removed by the archaeology department in
1969) should be replaced. This area could be used for
storage, if nothing else, but it lends itself better to
a rest area. Or it could be used as a home for such a
thing as a diorama.
Our past practice of using stains and oils for all
exterior areas has added to our problems of water damage.
We recommend that an oil base primer, tinted to dark brown,
be applied first, followed by one coat of quality flat
Latex paint. This procedure has been used on the Arrivas,
Salcedo and Benet Houses this past year.
