POST OFFICE DEPARTMENT
ASSISTANT POSTMASTER GENERAL
BUREAU OF OPERATIONS
WASHINGTON NK D.C. 20260

November 27, 1963

Honorable Spessard L. Holland
United States Senate
Washington, D. C. 20510

Dear Senator:

Reference is made to previous correspondence relative to
the need for the Post Office Department to vacate its
present facilities in St. Augustine, Florida.

We are pleased to advise the Post Office Department has
approved a project for leasing space for postal purposes
at St. Augustine.

We have also notified Mr. Earle W. Newton, Director General
(Acting), National Quadricentennial Commission to contact
the General Services Administration, the agency which has
jurisdiction over the present Federal building, in regard
to acquisition of the property, if he has not already done
so.

Sincerely yours,

rederick C. Belen
