TRICKLE IRRIGATION UTILITIES SOFTWARE PACKAGE DESCRIPTION

by

Fedro S. Zazueta, Allen G. Smajstrla and Dalton S. Harrison\l

Introduction

This software package, TRICKLE IRRIGATION UTILITIES, consists
of a series of microcomputer programs and associated documenta-
tion for the design, operation and maintenance of trickle irriga-
tion systems. This collection of programs is intended for
trickle irrigation system designers, owners and operators in
Florida.
This software package is not intended as a substitute for
sound engineering practice or good management and should be used
only by individuals knowledgable of the specific tasks to be
performed. Moreover, the responsibility for the consequences of
the use of these programs lies solely with the user.

System Requirements

This software package is supported ONLY for the following
microcomputer system configurations:

Operating system. CP/M v2.2 or compatible
later version or emulator.

Disks. 1 disk is required.

Disk format. Disk formats presently
include the following
machines:

Osborne 1, SSSD and SSDD.
Zenith-89, 10 sector SSSD.
Rainbow 100.

Other formats will be
added to this list as the
authors gain access to
hardware.

\1 Visiting Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and
Professor respectively, Agricultural Engineering Department,
IFAS, University of Florida.

Terminal.

Printer.

A standard ASCII 24x80
character screen is
supported. To insure
maximum portability no
special terminal features
are supported.

No printer is required. If
a printer is present in
the system, output can be
routed optionally using
the ^P toggle. All input
and output is done through
the operating system.

In addition, the programs included in this software are
provided as Intel standard HEX formated files in the IFAS Compu-
ter Network. However, in order to gain access to these programs
a valid account and password are necessary. Some County Agents
have access to the IFAS Computer Network and might be of assist-
ance if it is desired to download the programs to other formats
than those listed above.
