TO WHOM IT MAAY CONCERN:

I hereby wish to state my proposed intentions concerning
the care and operation of the Llambias House, in the event that
this building be entrusted to my care.

I would make necessary improvements in the grounds,
beautifying and maintaining them in good shape, so that it would
be made of the show places of St. Augustine. I have in mind
building a circular fountain, in which there would be water
lilies and gold fish; and flowers would be kept in bloom during
all seasons of the year.

The house, as you know, is in great need of repair and
redecorating, both inside and out. I would be willing to furnish
the labor for these improvements, subject to the wishes of the
Committee. M.y work would be supplemented by the advice of a
competent decorator, who would also be willing to furnish antique
furniture to carry out the spirit of this fine old house.

The cultural tradition would be maintained, by the con-
version of three rooms into studios for artists. One of these
studios would be located in the large front room upstairs,
the other two would be in the smaller rooms downstairs. The
large front room downstairs would be converted into a permanent
art gallery, where local artists could exhibit their work at
all seasons of the year, and would be open to the public.

I would occupy two rooms on the second floor, and,
inasmuch as I am a year round resident, would be able to give
the Llambias House my undivided attention at all times.

Therefore, I feel that it would be much to the advantage
of the Committee to have a person qualified to maintain both
the garden and the house, with all the necessary skills involved,
and I would appreciate your consideration in this matter.

Very truly yours,

t54~
