Dr. Carleton I. Calkin, Curator
Historic St. Augustine Preservation Board
St. Augustine, Florida 32084

Dear Dr. Calkins

Pursuant to our discussion of the other day, I am enclosing corres-
pondence and information on the watch to be displayed in the Museum of Florida Medical
History.
The history of this watch, in addition to being very interesting, will
also give you an idea as to its value. Sinee you discussed this with my husband by
phone, I'm sure you have given it much thought. However, I did request an estimate at
that time and am now withdrawing that request, as I have already submitted one in order
that our Auxiliary's books can be closed.
You may be assured of the continued interest and support of the Woman's
Auxiliary to the FMA, as enthusiasm grows when this project is brought to the attention
of more members. As you know, the Auxiliary was originally asked to raise funds for
the murals and you will shortly be receiving another check for this purpose.* due to
the success of our Art Show at Convention.
At our Fall Conference last year the Auxiliary voted to providec:addit-
ional funds for the future purchase of a suitable stationary encasement to safeguard
the timepiece, and hopefully, include a recording system which could give a brief his-
tory as well as the sound of the chimes described in the attached information
I've spoken with Mr. Harold Parham, Executive Vice President of FMA,
and he will be most happy to meet with us regarding this matter and other' plans we have
discussed
Sincerely,

Mrs. James J. DeVito
President, WA-FMA E
