NOTES ON PRELIMINARY CARTOGRAPHIC STUDY BLOCK 16

1) Contemporary maps indicate that let Spanish Period housing was along
Spanish Street exclusively.

2) There are apparently no carry-over structures from the let to the 2nd
Spanish Periods.

3) Difficult to scale because of the changing location of the north end
of the block.

4) Possibility that Puente locations could be off as much as 21% although
the error would be greater nearer the north end.

5) Reoque locations probably accurate to within 10% because of later date
and the fact that Roque was an engineer.

6) Cartographic study based en Puente and Rocque with a cursory examination
of Jefferies, Moncrief and Barrio.

7) More specific information may be forthcoming after archaeology locates
one or more 1st Spanish Period buildings.

8) Xerox copies not suitable for sealing because of slight reduction in
copying.
