INC. ROOM 119 FLORIDA TITLE BLDG. a JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA 32202

June 8, 1976

Mrs. Elizabeth Towers
"The Joaneda House"
St. Augustine, Florida

Dear Mrs. Towers,

On June 5, 1976, I had the pleasure of going on a delightful
inspection tour with you through the nearly completed "Joaneda House"
which is being restored by the Historic St. Augustine Preservation Board.

I had several occasions to look over this house before the restoration
was begun and was well aware of the condition of the house and the immense
job ahead on restoring it to its now present condition.

At this time I would like to commend The Historic St. Augustine
Preservation Board, the designer, planner, engineer, the builder and
the workmen on the nearly completed product. Also, the use of your
jointly planned, choice ideas, materials and products used.

"The Joaneda House" surely will, for years to come, be seen and
enjoyed by vast numbers of different people from our United States as
well as other parts of the world.

I think the St. Augustine Preservation Board has done an outstanding
job on this project and this house will be an inspiration to those who
follow their footsteps. The board's expertise in its preservation and
restoration should be appreciated by all of us.oThe love and warmth
shown by you, Mrs. Towers and the others like yourself, that generously
demonstrates your love by giving of your time, energy, money, property
and most of all, yourselves, to make St. Augustine an enjoyable place
to visit and see. This work certainly will also gain the respect of the
next generation for making "The Joaneda House" a reality to this our
1976 Bi-Centenial Year.

Respectfully,

Aee^^
