190-N 1763 Puente

Bernardo Perez

This man was a native of Valencia, Spain.
On Thursday, May 25, 1747, Ph. 244 he married
Victoria Rodriguez, native.

She was the daughter of Antonio Jose Rodriguez and
Manuela Rodriguez who were married in St. Augustine
July 27, 1719, Ph. 315.
Both were natives.
Manuela was daughter of Auu stin Rodriguez and Maria Aguilar
who were married here in 1693. They were 143 on the Ruined House
list of 1702.
Antonio Jose, Victoria's father, was the son of Jacinto Rodriguez
and Gertrude Morales who were married here 11/3/1683, Ph. 155
Antonio Jose and wife, Manuela, Victoria's parents lived
across the street from Mrs. Pedro Gonzales on St. George.
Manuela was half sister to Mrs. Gonzales.

The interesting and odd situation here is that both Victoria's fathe:
and her mother, (at different times) shared a command stepfather.
It seems that Antonio Jose's father died and his mother, Gertrude
Morales, Victoria's grandmother, married Jose Antonio Rodriguez
of Seville. Then she, Gertrude Morales died about the same time
that Augustin Rodriguez died leaving Maria Aguilar widowed, too.
Then Jose Antonio married Maria Aguilar...
So the same man married Victor's two grandmothers, her paternal
and her maternal grandmothers.

Bernardo Perez was listed in Fish, No. 103. Feb. 1778 William
Watson, British subject bought this property. He was on Moncrief
on the little lane that juts off Treasury in 1765 so he just
bought up the rest of the land bordering today's Cordova
Street.
