Lag soussigns, dment autorises est effet par leur Gouvernement respectif, ont convenu ce jour d'hui que les fonctionnaires ci-aprs, qui devront tre proposes et nommes ainsi qu'il est stipule l'Article II du trait entre la Republique d'Haiti et les Etats Unis d'Amrique sign Port au Prince le 16 Septembre 1915,, recevront, aux termes de l'Article V de es trait, le traita-ment annuel suivant :
Le Conseiller Financier:-
$6,000.00 en monnaie des Etats Unis titre d'appointements.
$4,000.00 en monnaie des Etats Unis titre de frais personnels.
Le Receveur Gnral des Douanes:-
$5,500.00 en monnaie des Etats Unis titre d'appointements.
$3,500,00 en monnaie des Etats Unis titre de frais personnels.
Le Receveur Gnral Adjoint des Douanes:-
$4,800.00 en monnaie des Etats Unis titre d'appointements.
$1,300.00 en monnaie des Etats Uni* titre de frais personnels.
The undsrsigned, duly authorized thereto
by their respective Government s, hava this
day agrsed that the following officiais, to
be nominated and appointed as stipulated in
Article II of the treaty between the Rspublic
of Haiti and the United States of America,
signed at Port au Prince on September 16,
1915, shall, pursuant to the provisions of
Article V, of said treaty recsive annually
compensation as follows:
Financial Advisar:-
$6,000.00 United States Currsncy, par annum, for salary and
$4,000.00 United Statas Currency, per annum, for personal expanss.
General Recaivar of Customs:-
$5,500.00 Unitad States Curranoy, per annum, for salary and
$3,500.00 United States Currsncy, per annum, for personal expanss.
Deputy General Recaiver of Customs:-
$4,800.00 United States Currancy, per annum, for salary, and
$1,200.00 Unitad States Currancy, per annum, for personal expenses.
Il est convenu, en outre, que, jusqu' ce qu'un arrangement ultrieur soit intervenu antre les Hautes Parties Contractantes, le Prsidant d'Haiti nommera, sur la proposition du Prsident das Etats Unis et aux appointements fixs sur la recommandation de ce dernier, tels

autres assistants et employs qui seront jugs ncessaires pour aider le Receveur General percevoir, recevoir et appliquer convenablement tous les droits d'entre et de sortie provenant des diverses douanes et ports d'entre de la Republique d'Haiti.
Il est entendu toutefois que le total des appointements et frais prvus cidessus pour tous les fonctionnaires et employe dont il est fait mention ne dpassera pas les 5 pour cent des perceptions et recettes des douanes, sauf accord ultrieur entre les deux Gouvernements.
En foi de quoi les sousigns ont sign la prsente convention et y ont appos leurs cachets. Fait en double original Washington, ce ZT Juin mil neuf cent seize.

Provided, that the total salaries and expenses of ail the officiais and employes herein mentioned shall not exceed 5 per centum of the collections and recaipts from the customs duties, unle3s by subsquent agreement betwsen the two Governments.
