EXPLANATION
QUATERNARY

Qd quartz sands with surface expression of dunes.
unit on undifferentiated, often clean quartz sands.
fine to medium grained.

Qu Undifferentiated surficial sands, clayey sands, clays,
marls and peats >20 feet thick. No formations
recognized.

QUATERNARY/TERTIARY

or Ocala Limestone. Often karstified with some of the karst
features containing Hawthorn Group sediments.

TERTIARY

Th- Hawthorn Group. Sandy clays, silt, occasional carbonates.
May locally contain phosphate.

To Ocala Limestone. White to gray, fossiliferous, moldic
limestone. Variable from packstone to grainstone.

Ts Suwannee Limestone. Marine limestone, fossiliferous, varies
from poorly recrystallized to well recrystallized,
packstone to grainstone. Minorsiliciclasticcomponent.
