PRE-SYMPOSIUM TECHNICAL TOURS

These four pre-symposium technical tours are designed to give delegates insights into some Southern African farming systems practiced in or near
some of the sub-continent's prime tourist attractions. Each tour will be accompanied by a registered tour guide .rinI a member of SAAFSR-E.

All tour prices are quoted in US dollars, are based on minimum and maximum numbers and include transport in air-conditioned vehicles, a
professional English speaking driver/guide, porterage, entrance fees to all facilities and attractions and costs of meals and accommodation as

TOUR 1 SOUTHERN AFRICA 3 COUNTRIES, 17- 28 NOVEMBER 1998
Farming systems and community wildlife programmes in South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe (including visits to
the Okavango Delta, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe "ruins" and Kruger National Park).
The tour departs from Johannesburg International Airport on Wednesday 18 November at 1 0hOO. Travel to Botswana via
the North-West province thr. 'lh -'n rein-i maize and visit a community development programme. Day 2 drive through
arid savannah past salt pans to the foot of the world's largest inland delta, the Okavango Delta. Day 3 includes briefings
by the Community \\ Idli:. Management Trust Committee and agricultural officers and visits to co-operating farmers and
wildlife :soa- Days 4 and 5 take you to the spectacular Chobe National Park, famous for its huge elephant herds and
bikdlife, with briefings by wildlife officers and the Chobe Enclave Management Trust. Included are dinners and two nights at Chobe Game Lodge.
Day 6 takes you on a 2,hour drive to Zimbabwe's Victoria Falls, with a Falls tour, a cruise on the mighty Zambezi. Day 7 includes \ I to small
farm developments near Bulawayo. On Day 8 drive to the Agricultural Research Centre in Masvingo spending 2 nights at the Great Zimbabwe
hotel and visiting small-scale farmers, the Great Zimbabwe Ruins and Lake Kyle. Day 10 return to South Africa with lunch at the Limpopo River
Lodge. Pass rhr. .u l tea estates, forests and decorated villages to-overnight at Thohoyandou. Visit the Venda Mango Growers Association on Day
11 and overnight in the Kruger National Park. Finally traverse beautiful mountain passes through the Blyde River Canyon to Pretoria, arriving at

Farming systems in the wheat, fruit and winelands of South Africa (including visits to some of South Africa's premier

\ The Western Cape is the only winter rainfall region in South Africa and is renowned for its flora, spectacular scenery and
wines.
The tour departs from Johannesburg International Airport on Monday 23 November 1998 at 10h00. Fly to Cape Town,
arriving at tli-h Breakwater Lodge hotel in the afternoon. The Breakwater Lodge,your home for tlh- i, "il. is a budget hotel
within walking distance of Cape Town's Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, a busy harbour set amidst pubs, restaurants,

scale farmers in the fruit growing areas, including lunch. Day 3's tour will cover the wine growing areas of Paarl and Stellenbosch, including

between 11 h00 on Saturday and 09h00 on Monday. A 24-hour foreign exchange facility is available at Johannesburg International Airport.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

TOUR PRICES & PAYMENT
Prices are based on the accommodation and transport tariffs currently applicable and are valid for the duration of the Symposium.
Prices are subject to adjustment in the event of any changes imposed by our individual principals, or in the event of any change in
VAT or fuel prices. Full payment for the tours is required six weeks prior to departures of the tour arrangements.
All prices are in US Dollars (South African Rands prices available to South African residents on request).

CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations must be made in writing and will be effective on the date of receipt in our offices. Cancellation fees will be confined
to those fees levied by our principals, generally as follows:
More than 6 weeks prior to departure no charge
42-28 days prior to departure 25% of the service to be rendered will be charged
28 7 days prior to departure 50% of the service to be rendered will be charged
Less than 7 days prior to departure 100% of the service to be rendered will be charged

ACCOMMODATION
Prices are based on twin sharing rooms with private bath/shower. Single rooms with private bath/shower at an extra supplement.
Should any passenger alter their arrangements with any hotel or transport operator while travelling, Event Dynamics requires a
confirmation letter from a suitable representative of the hotel or operator stating that the change has been made and no extra
charge levied. A processing fee for any unused services will be charged.

TRANSPORT
In issuing tickets/coupons for travel or transport by any means and in making arrangements for hotel and other accommodation,
Event Dynamics AFSR-E is acting merely as agents for the Administrations, Companies, Corporations or persons providing or
offering the means of travel, transport or accommodations. It will accordingly accept no responsibility or liability in respect of
either person or property for any loss, damage, injury, delay or irregularity however occasioned, sustained or suffered in or during
any passage, journey, trip or in connection with the carrying out of any arrangements made by or through it.
Event Dynamics reserves the right to make, with or without notice, any variations or changes in the vehicles, hotel
accommodations, meals, sightseeing, tour routes or schedules, without liability for compensation to the customer. It will
furthermore not be liable for any loss, which- may be incurred by any alteration, suspension or curtailment of services.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT
It is the responsibility of the passenger to ensure compliance with entry requirements into South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe.

LUGGAGE
Luggage is limited to 20kg per passenger. Baggage and personal belongings are carried entirely at owner's risk.

CHECK-IN TIMES
Passengers are requested to report at the airport 60 minutes (domestic) and 120 minutes (international) before flight departure
time. Hotel rooms are generally only available to be occupied after 14h00 on the day of check-in.

FORCE MAJEURE
Event Dynamics and any of our suppliers and/or sub-contractors shall not be responsible for any loss or damage sustained by the
passengers or for any personal injury or death arising from circumstances beyond their reasonable control, including but without
limiting the generality of the foregoing, war, acts of God, industrial disputes, civil strife, fire, flood, weather and political unrest.

GOVERNING LAW & JURISDICTION
Any claim arising shall be subject to South African law and you, your client and Event Dynamics agree to submit to the exclusive
jurisdiction of South African courts.

ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS & CONDITIONS
Acceptance by the customer of final vouchers and/or tickets will be deemed to be acceptance of all the Terms and Conditions
described herein.
