MJr. Earle W. Newton
Executive Director
St. Augustine Historical Restoration and
Preservation Cormnission
P. O. Box 484,
40 St. George Street
St. Augustine, Florida 32084,

Dear Earle:

It would be very good to have the Historic American Buildings
Survey drawings of the Rodrigues House, 52 St. George Street,
updated to include the archeological and documentary evidence
uncovered since the drawings were made. May we accept your
offer to arrange this with the owner of the house? Your kind
cooperation in this is very much appreciated.

Since HABS drawings record a building as it is when they are made,
the new information could best be added by making some additional
sheets for the set. If the owner of the house ja still agreeable
to having this done by an architect or archeologist, the value of
the sheets would be, as a gift to the Federal Government, income
tax deductible, upon their donation to HABS. To facilitate new
work we are sending under separate cover several sheets of the
new HABS drawing paper, and prints of the present set.

Thank you again for your help with this.

Sincerely yours,

Robert E. Smith
