MEMO

TO: DR. ROBERT GOLD

FROM: DAVID SCOTT t I

DATE: 06/29/88

SUBJECT: PAREDES/DODGE RESTORATION

Here is the preliminary proposed budget for restoration of the

Paredes/Dodge house at 54 St. George St. Please note that it

includes 1,050 hours of in house labor, in both research and

construction. It is through extensive in house labor that an

economical restoration is possible.

A benefit, other than just saving money, of in house labor is it

would allow us a great deal of control over the outcome of the

project. I would hope that such control would assure us of a

quality product that would reflect positively on the Foundation

and the Revolving Fund Restoration Program.

I have had Herschel Shepard take a look at the budget proposal

and he thought it was reasonable, though he did not have time to

visit the house. I hope to have Ted Clark take a look at the

electrical elements in the budget to make sure that we are within

the ball park-.F 2-$i- H 2

Will this be enough for you to take to the Board of Trustees? If

you need more, please let me know.
