Mr. Williams decided to re-
model the building a little over
a year ago, about the time the
Byrne Building was being razed.
Realizing the importance of the
historical area in which he was

operate with plans toward restor-
ation which were being publicized
at that time by the Williamsburg
Study Group, he called on archi-
tect B. O. Crichlow to design im-
provements which would be in
keeping with the old word atmos-
phere.
The result was the charming
and eye-catching building as it is
seen today.

on the lower portion of the build-
