TO W. F. Rolleston
FROM: R. H. Steinbach

As per your request of 2/6/69, I have examined the locks
from the Peck House. The following are from a period post
dating 1865, 1) Door 2-8 Cast Iron Dead Bolt
2) Door 1-11 Cast Iron Latch & Dead Bolt (Russwin)
The rest of the locks appear to pre-date 1865, however,
many are incomplete and only two, #2-2 & #1-6 appear to have
the original knobs.
Other major discrepancies are as follows:
Door #
2-17 Should have keeper like 2-6
2-18 2-6
2-15 Should have keeper like 2-19
1- 8 2-6
1- 1 Should have keeper like 1-6
Porcelain key hole covers should be used with caution.
