Dear Bob:

Enclosed please find a copy of the Dr. Peck House
marker as we sent it up to the caster. As we agreed
in our telephone conversation of last week we sub-
stituted the word owned for occupied in order to have
a completely solid documentary foundation.

I am sure the proof sheet will be back from the
caster shortly.

As I have said before I certainly appreciate
your cooperation.

Respectfully,

Randy F. Nimnicht
Historic Preservationist

DR. PECK HOUSE

IThe stone walls of this building date from

before 1750 and were part of a house owned

Ly tie Royal Treasurer late in te First

it csrved for a time as the home of Governor

purchase the house and rebuilt it using the

old walls and adding tLh frarae seconid-story.

It remained in the Ieck family until willed

to the City in 1931. A generous grant from

tnie I laglcr foundation permitted extensive

restoration in 1968.
