4. 1785, August 6 Juna Baptista de los Rios claims the house and lot of his
wife Maria Marcelina de la Rosa, who remains in Havana and is waiting
for the ship to come to St. Augustine.
In order to satisfy the reason for his petition he offers the following
1st. That Dimingo Escalona inherited the property by death of his
father and three brothers.
2nd. By the death of Domingo Escalona, the property is inherited by
Maria Marcelina, Manuel and Juan de la Rose. The first my wife,
and other two her brothers, established in the city of Veracruz
with some comfort and so they don't intend to oppose the petition
of their sister as told.
Any doubts about this could be cleared by Don Antonio L6pez de
Toledo, Captain of the Regiment of Infantry of Havana, because
he knows everything regarding this.
St. Augustine, 6 of August of 1785.
