this Plaza.

First, the house where he died, of masonry covered with tejamani, with
the lot on its location and a wooden kitchen located on it; bounded by
the front by a big street that crosses from the East to the West for
the band of the North; for the band of the South with the (house) of
Diego Carreras; by the East, with another (lot?) of Dn. Franco Xavier
Sanchez, and by the West, with house and lot of Jose Pons: which lot
was expressed by the said widow was owned by him because the dead man
had bought it with the inheritance he received by the death of his father.

Don Juan de Landa was Da. Manuela Diaz's husband. (Source:
C. P. R. marriages, Feb. 7, 1740)

But Landa's1 name was not recorded by Mr. Fish as owner of a
house sold or rented by him.

"This is to say that I, Francisco Sanchez and Catalina Sanchez, legal
husband and wife, residents of this city agree that we really sell to
Dofa Maria Antonia Hill, widow of this vicinity, a wooden house with the
lot of its location situated on St. George Street by which it is bounded
on the West; by the North with lot of Jose Sanchez; by the East, with
house and lot of Dimas Pons, and by the South, house and lot of Diego
Carreras; measuring by its front North-South, twenty six castillian varas,
and to the back, East-West, thirty-two said, which house has been built at
our expenses, and the lot came to me, the second in the division of goods
made the year 1809 by the death of my natural father Don Francisco Xavier
Sanchez, in accordance with the inventory proceeding that exists in the
archive of the present Scriber. And we sell her the cited house and lot
with all its entrances, exits, uses, customs, rights and rights of way,
that it had and pertain to it, free of any mortgage (as I, the said
Scriber certify it, in accordance with the book of mortgages of my charge
