Tip of the Month: Recycling/Sustainability
The University of Florida and the City of Gainesville are committed to creating sus-
tainable environments. Here are few easy things you can do to help:
* Don't leave water running while brushing your teeth or doing dishes
* Unplug appliances (they still use electricity when they are off but plugged in!)
* Use recycling bins provided by the city for items in your home
* Join the One Less Car Day campaign (www.sustainable.ufl.edu/onelesscar)
Check out the UF Office of Sustainability for more information!
City Code of the Month: Occupancy
Having roommates and living with a group of people can be a great experience but there are
certain city codes you need to follow. (Occupancy is Chapter 30, Article IV, Division 2 in the
Code of Ordinances) In single family districts (houses and condos) in the City of
Gainesville you cannot have more than THREE unrelated people living in a resi-
dence together. Apartments do not fall under single family districts. Look at the
link below for more information.
