Mr. Palumbo Attendance Counselor Counseling is the process of helping students learn to help themselves. Students are given guidance in choosing the proper schedule of courses, are aided in making decisions about careers after high school, and are tested in aptiude, personality and intelligence. The guidance counselors at Cristobal High School seek to provide students with information such as books, pamphlets and films with which students can make their . own choices. Through discussions between the counselor and the stu- dent concerning the student's interest, aptitude and special problems, the best possible choices as to the student's future can be made. Testing proves a very valuable tool, serving the student as a indicator of his or her abilities and potential. Students are given the Iowa Basic Skills test, the S.A.T., and the A.C.T. which are all -- ways of determining where your ability lies.
