"Mr. Renno has definitely worked to
improve our school. The public expects

"Every piece of marble has a statue
in it waiting to be released by a man
of sufficient skill to chip away the
unneccessary parts. Just as the
sculptor is to the marble, so is edu-
cation to the soul. It releases it. For
only educated men are free men.
You cannot create a statue by
smashing the marble with a ham-
mer, and you cannot by force of
arms release the spirit or the soul of
man."

DEDICATION He taught us more than government, this freedom-loving man. He showed his loyal spirit as an avid Tiger fan. With camera poised for action he would capture every shot. His talent shined in black and white; he gave U8 what he got. In special, individual ways he let us know he cared. Cristobal High is grateful that with us his life was shared. Judy Palumbo Mr. William Gansen The yearbook staff of 1982-1988 dedicates this edition to Mr. Gansen. He has faithfully assisted us with his photography and has animated us with his Tiger spirit. M o z MCLAIN'S BAND IN CONCERT The CHS Senior Band encompasses a large amount of the student body and continues to be one of the most active parts of our school. Starting the year with hard practice, they were ready to play for all of the horne football games with spirit and vitality. The tour of the elementary schools spread a little of CHS's spirit to the younger, future high school members. To round out the year, they are planning a trip to Chriqui. ..............................................

I'll never forget the humor as well as the headaches we've shared in yearhooking. Because the yearbook must contain so many facets of high school life, presistence and hard work were needed to attain this goal. It is difficult to put into words the mixed feeling of anxiety, disappointments, and perseverance that went into this labor. Frustrations might have discouraged us at the beginning, but, as a whole, working on the yearbook has been a marvelous and rewarding experience. The laughter and expressions of the student body have been sealed within these pages. We can never relive our unforgettable moments again, but the sweet memories remain, frozen into the dimensions of our minds as we reminisce over minutes we wish to never end. Those people who fully supported us deserve a hearty thanks, and this is my opportunity to thank them. Thank you staff for making this yearbook a wonderful reality; Mrs. Hoffman for your dedication and zeal in preserving a unified staff; Mr. Renno, Mr. Moser, Mr. Gansen, and Mrs. Garey for aiding our photographers; Mr. McLain for your time and effort as our business manager; Mr. Cowley and Mrs. Mottern for letting me, on some occasions, work on yearbook during your period; and Ed Morales and Chris Harlin for your artistic help. Thank you again, yearbook staff, for a ll your dedicated time and your daily sacrifice of each lunch period to achieve our common goal. I hope that this yearbook has adequatel y recorded our great m emories of 1982. Cordially, Beatrice Tseng Yearbook Editor

Charles M. Renno
Principal

"Mr. Renno has definitely worked to
improve our school. The public expects
and sometimes demands that a princi-
pal be flawless, to always make perfect
decisions, but of course, no man can be
"perfect." Despite tremendous pres-
sures, Mr. Renno ably cuts through con-
flicting ideas and seeks what is best for
C. H. S. as well as the personalities in-
volved."
-A teacher

Howard Perkins
Assistant Principal

"Sincerely, he has been as assistant "
principal who has seen me as a friend
and not just as a student to be disci-
plined. He always has a story to tell,
whether sad or happy, it is always
special."

MCLAIN'S BAND IN

CONCERT

The CHS Senior Band
encompasses a large amount of
the student body and continues to
be one of the most active parts of
our school. Starting the year with
hard practice, they were ready to
play for all of the home football
games with spirit and vitality. The
tour of the elementary schools
spread a little of CHS's spirit to
the younger, future high school
members. To round out the year,
they are planning a trip to
Chriqui.

DEDICATION

He taught us more than government, this freedom-loving man.
He showed his loyal spirit as an avid Tiger fan.
With camera poised for action he would capture every shot.
His talent shined in black and white; he gave us what he got.
In special, individual ways he let us know he cared.
Cristobal High is grateful that with us his life was shared.

has faithfully assisted us

has animated us with his Ti-

"Every piece of marble has a statue
in it waiting to be released by a man
of sufficient skill to chip away the
unneccessary parts. Just as the
sculptor is to the marble, so is edu-

only educated men are free men.
You cannot create a statue by

MCLAIN'S BAND IN
CONCERT

The CHS Senior Band
encompasses a large amount of
the student body and continues to
be one of the most active parts of
our school. Starting the year with
hard practice, they were ready to
play for all of the home football
games with spirit and vitality. The
tour of the elementary schools
spread a little of CHS's spirit to
the younger, future high school
members. To round out the year,
they are planning a trip to
Chriqui.

FROM T

EDITOR E

I'll never forget the humor as well as the
headaches we've shared in yearbooking.
Because the yearbook must contain so many
facets of high school life, presistence and hard
work were needed to attain this goal. It is
difficult to put into words the mixed feeling of
anxiety, disappointments, and perseverance that
went into this labor. Frustrations might have
discouraged us at the beginning, but, as a
whole, working on the yearbook has been a
marvelous and rewarding experience.

The laughter and expressions of the student
body have been sealed within these pages. We
can never relive our unforgettable moments
again, but the sweet memories remain, frozen
into the dimensions of our minds as we
reminisce over minutes we wish to never end.

Those people who fully supported us deserve
a hearty thanks, and this is my opportunity to
thank them. Thank you staff for making this
yearbook a wonderful reality; Mrs. Hoffman for
your dedication and zeal in preserving a unified
staff; Mr. Renno, Mr. Moser, Mr. Gansen, and
Mrs. Garey for aiding our photographers; Mr.
McLain for your time and effort as our business
manager; Mr. Cowley and Mrs. Mottern for
letting me, on some occasions, work on
yearbook during your period; and Ed Morales
and Chris Harlin for your artistic help. Thank
you again, yearbook staff, for all your dedicated
time and your daily sacrifice of each lunch
period to achieve our common goal.

I hope that this yearbook has adequately
recorded our great memories of 1982-83.

Cordially,
Beatrice Tseng
Yearbook Editor

"Every piece of marble has a statue
in it waiting to be released by a man
of sufficient skill to chip away the
unnecessary parts. Just as the
sculptor is to the marble, so is edu-
cation to the soul. It releases it. For
only educated men are free men.
You cannot create a statue by
smashing the marble with a ham-
mer, and you cannot by force of
arms release the spirit or the soul of
man."

I'll never forget the humor as well as the
headaches we've shared in yearbooking.
Because the yearbook must contain so many
facets of high school life, presistence and hard
work were needed to attain this goal. It is
difficult to put into words the mixed feeling of
anxiety, disappointments, and perseverance that
went into this labor. Frustrations might have
discouraged us at the beginning, but, as a
whole, working on the yearbook has been a
marvelous and rewarding experience.
The laughter and expressions of the student
Body have been sealed within these pages. We
can never relive our unforgettable moments
Again, but the sweet memories remain, frozen
Into the dimensions of our minds as we
1 reminisce over minutes we wish to never end.
Those people who fully supported us deserve
a hearty thanks, and this is my opportunity to
Thank them. Thank you staff for making this
yearbook a wonderful reality; Mrs. Hoffman for
your dedication and zeal in preserving a unified
: staff; Mr. Renno, Mr. Moser, Mr. Gansen, and
Mrs. Garey for aiding our photographers; Mr.
McLain for your time and effort as our business
Manager; Mr. Cowley and Mrs. Mottern for
S, letting me, on some occasions, work on
yearbook during your period; and Ed Morales
and Chris Harlin for your artistic help. Thank
Syou again, yearbook staff, for all your dedicated
time and your daily sacrifice of each lunch
period to achieve our common goal.
I hope that this yearbook has adequately
recorded our great memories of 1982-83.

Cordially,
Beatrice Tseng

"He is a very patient
man and is never too
busy to help you with a
problem."
-A 12th grader

"I like Mr. Cowley's
style of teaching espe-
cially because he gets
along with all his stu-
dents. In his class you
learn that there are a
lot of things a person
must do forhimself be-
cause no one else is
going to do it. This
really helps a person
grow up."
-A 1th grader

"I like Miss Darnell

always talks about

able to teach quite well. He
