Voice Of

Democracy

America is open spaces to roam.
She is country that millions call home.
She is a country of drab and of bright.
But one for which all, surely, must fight.
She has easily endured many a foe.
And her reputation has suffered many a blow.
But all who have known her and all who can see.
Know that America is and for a long time will be.
America is people
America is love
America is freedom
America Is.

In competition with about
12 other contestants, Keith
Allaun was awarded first place in
the Voice of Democracy contest.
The poem above was written by
Keith and was part of his winning
entry. Congratulations Keith!

Our Principal Dr. Holmgrain

After just two years, our Principal, Dr.
Everett Holngrain, has become a familiar and
welcome face in our hallways. He carries with him
at all times an aura of fairness and of caring.
Under his leadership our teachers have blossomed
and we have enjoyed his friendly smile each time
we have met him in his office or the hall. Thank
you, Dr. Holmgrain for an extra fine year.

spends his time keeping track of who's not in
S1 school. In the Guidance Counselor area are Mrs.
Gegg, the girls' counselor and Mr. Mowery, the
boys' counselor. Both the counselors devote their
nC time to taking care of student schedules and

You were here before us, and you have learned the way ahead. We know there are places you've been
and times you've known, and now it's our time to tread. You have taken time and taught us all you have
come to know. We, your students, thank you. It's strange how sad we are to go. We hope that with our goals
and thoughts in mind, we will learn the many lines that you . already have read.
