School is a center of learning; learning basics, learning communication,
and learning about life. STUDY helps us to achieve our goals, and opens
opponunities for the future. Hours diligently spent in study give us a sense
of achievement and the satisfaction of a job well done.

(1) Classroom study is the basis for learning. (2) Shorthand is one of the
many courses offered to develop office skills. (3) The daily ritual of going
from class to class. (4) Practical knowledge Is gained in such classes as
woodshop. (5) Lab is a challenge to see if formulas such as MgO + H.0
yields the correct result. (6) Mistakes are an important pan of learn-
ing. (7) Last minute homework is often seen on campus. (8) Graduation
is our reward for all the years we've invested in school. (9) Teachers
are willing to guide students as they progress.

SCHOOL gives us a chance to (1)
develop co-educational relationships.
(2) to make new friends, (3) to relax
and be yourself, (4) to share our tal-
ents, (5) to air our thoughts and ideas,
(6) to interact with our teachers, (7)
compete with our peers, and (8)
develop special friendships.

PERFORMANCE is exhibiting your
talents and willingness to give your
time and efforts for the benefit not
only for yourself, but for your school.
This involves creating, skill, and
enthusiasm which contribute toward
Balboa's school spirit.

As I sit here and
gaze at the old school clock,
I wonder if
it'll ever stop .

I've gone through four years
of exasperation,
my days are numbered with expectation,
to be found . .

The numbers and pages,
the functions verbs
sift through my brain cells
'til I feel quite perturbed!

Yet, it wasn't all bad,
I laughed and I learned
and I think that now,
it's time the leaf turned . .

LUCK ALWAYS!!!

The 1978 Spanish Club held its traditional
Camaval dance on January 28, 1978. The
queen and her court wore the typical Pana-
manian dress, the Pollera, while their
escorts wore the Muntuno.
The Camaval dance is held each year to
.present to other students of our school the
large quantity of Latin American culture to
.be foundaamong the student body.
