all administered under the
Southwest Louisiana National
Wildlife Refuge Complex with a
total budget of $3,468,000.
Natural History
Refuge is composed of a few small
shell spits or islands that are
continually being built up and then
eroded and moved by storm events.
Concentrations of shorebirds and
colonial sea birds.
Refuge Objectives
By executive order, the refuge was
"... reserved and set apart .... as a
reserve and breeding ground for
native birds."
