y educational experiences have taught me that there is still good in education today, and it comes in the form of good teachers. These are teachers who
inspire students to develop a love of their subject and a love of learning itself. By teaching students to love learning, students will continue to learn and educate themselves throughout their lifetime. My personal experience in many different kinds of classrooms can prove that there is, in fact, good in education.
In fifth grade, my teacher inspired students to read through her own personal library of children's books which she shared with us in the classroom. In middle school, my earth science teacher challenged the class with interesting experiments that sometimes took us outside of the classroom and into nature. He also inspired students to further explore topics interesting to us through reading and analyzing scientific magazine articles.
In high school, my European history teacher caught students' interest by covering not only what was in the textbook or on the Advanced Placement test, but also the background story and interesting facts (or speculation) surrounding an event or topic.
Finally, my English Literature teacher in twelfth grade was extremely passionate about the subject she taught which reflected in her students' enjoyment of the class and their performance.
These teachers and many more have inspired countless students to go forth on a quest for knowledge and learning. Because of these teachers, students have developed into not only successful students but successful individuals. Good teachers also inspire students to strive towards being good teachers themselves someday. I know this to be true because I have been inspired myself and hope that one day all teachers can be as passionate and inspiring as some of the amazing teachers that I have mentioned.
