January 2008 http://www.iacuc.ufl.edu/ Volume 5, Issue 1

mylACUC is here!

The mylACUC protocol submission system is
on-line and is now mandatory for all new and
triennial submissions. Electronic (email)
submissions for new protocols, triennials,
and major revisions will not be accepted
after January 1, 2008.

The current system of submitting forms via
email will still be used for all currently approved
protocols which need Annual Renewals or
minor changes (addendums) until it is time to
complete the triennial, then you must use the
new system. The forms we will still accept
remain on our website at
http://www.iacuc.ufl.edu/forms.htm.

The IACUC has held several training sessions
for investigators, lab staff, and administrative
staff who want hands-on training with the new
system. New classes for 2008 have been
scheduled:

Thursday, January 3, 10:00am-noon
Wednesday, January 16, 2:00pm-4:00pm
Friday, January 18, 1:30pm-3:30pm
Friday, January 25, 1:30pm-3:30pm
Monday, January 28, 10:00am-noon
Thursday, January 31, 2:00pm-4:00pm
Friday, February 8, 10:00am-noon
Thursday, February 28, 10:00am-noon

mylACUC training classes will be held in room
C3-013 of the Communicore Building. To sign
up for classes, please write us at
iacuc(@qrove.ufl.edu and put mylACUC
Training in the subject line. We are working to
get even more training dates; updates will be

posted on our website
http://www.iacuc.ufl.edu/news updates.htm

Head at 392-9918.

mylACUC FAQs

As with any major system change, mylACUC
has had several 'behaviors' that we are
working hard to correct. Here are some
frequently asked questions:

I can complete most of theform, but there are a
couplefields I can'tfi lout. What's wrong? At the
current time, mylACUC does not fully support
the Safari or FireFox browsers. Please use
Internet Explorer as your web browser or
FireFox with the IE Tab Add-on (see Help/FAQ
in the upper left corner of the mylACUC screen
for details). An email will go out to all users
when this problem has been corrected.

I just registeredon mylIAC'C. Why can't Iget on
the systemyet? Registration is not
instantaneous with mylACUC. When you
request roles as a new user, an IACUC staff
member has to verify information before you
can be given access to the system. While
access is usually granted within a few hours,
please allow up to 2 business days after
registration for access to mylACUC.

Why can't I create a new study? Only people with
the roles of Principal Investigator or Study
Coordinator have the ability to create new
studies. Once study staff have been added, all
three roles can modify or edit the study in
mylACUC.
