of Florida Graduate Program in Health Administration. This is
an important milestone for the program, recognizing its long and
successful history and the many accomplishments of program alumni
through the years.

We are inviting program alumni, former faculty, and friends to
celebrate with us in Gainesville. In addition to the 40th anniversary,
we will be honoring the
classes of 1966, 1976,
1986, and 1996. Please r-*

with program faculty
and students. We will
also be having a full Class of 1986
day of educational sessions on Friday. We join the College of Public
Health and Health Professions Alumni Weekend events on Saturday
(Pre-game Barbecue and UF vs. UCF Football Game).

"Insights from Reflections on Forty Years of Hindsight"

"SavingAmerica's Health Care System, Incremental Change or Total Overhaul?"

As health care costs continue to grow, health care coverage is becoming less and less af-
fordable, and more Americans are uninsured. Many are concerned that our health care
system will reach a "tipping point" where it can no longer be sustained. This session will
explore various opportunities for reforming the health care system. We will hear what is
being discussed at the national level and about initiatives in Florida. A diverse panel of UF
graduates and a former professor will react to the presentations and share their perspectives
on where health care reform is or should be heading.

* Stuart Wesbury served as ACHE President from 1979 to 1991, during which time he
brought it from a small organization to the premier professional organization for health
care executives. In 1972, he came to the University of Florida to earn his doctorate in
economics and business administration. He was an influential part of the early develop-
ment and growth of the UF graduate program in health administration.


* Gayle Harrell serves as Florida State House of Representatives for District 81. She
is Chair of the Health Care General Committee and was instrumental in the reform of
Florida's Medicaid program.


* CarlHomer is Vice President, Corporate Strategy, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida.
He was a Professor in the UF Graduate Program in Health Administration from 1979
to 1985.


*Alan Levine ('93) is leading the initiative to reform the Medicaid system in Florida.
Prior to running AHCA, Alan served as the Deputy Chief of Staff and Health Advisor
to Governor Jeb Bush and was formerly CEO of Doctor's Hospital in Perry and South
Bay Hospital in Sun City.


* Chris Finton ('01) is Vice President, Medical Affairs, Holmes Regional Medical Center
and Executive Director/Health First Heart Institute. Dr. Finton also serves as adjunct
faculty in the department.


* Fleury Yelvington ('85) is President and CEO, St. Mary's of Michigan. Fleury was the
COO of St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa and the administrator at St. Joseph's Women's
Hospital. She did her administrative residency in England.


* Kim Streit (' 86) is Vice President, Healthcare Research and Information, Florida Hospital
Association. She is responsible for data analysis and tracking issues and trends impacting
Florida hospitals. Kim currently serves as President of UF's Graduate Program in Health
Administration Alumni Association.
