Duval Harness & Supply Co.
P. O. Box 1111
Jacksonville 2, Florida

Dear Mr. Thomas:

We would like to aid your project of moving your Harness business
to St. Augustine, particularly if the work can be done in the old fashion
where people can see it. This might also have considerable promotional
value for the business concerned.

I will try to contact you when next in Jacksonville, and hope that you
can come down to St. Augustine to see the situation here with respect
to our demonstrating crafts. Mr. Bradley G. Brewer, assistant direc-
tor, and Mr. Dewey Adelsperger, who is in charge of our craft program,
would I know like to talk with you about developing a harness making
shop in the area.

Cordially,

Earle W. Newton
Executive Director

Memo to: Mr. Bradley G. Brewer
From: A. P. Franklin

Subject: Saddle and Harness Shop Inventory

We have sent for a catalogue of leather crafts in an effortto verify
prices on the items purchased from Mr. Albert Thomas at the
Saddle and Harness Shop. A random check of the items in the
inventory showed that we were able to purchase these items at a
substantial savings from Mr. Thomas, as compared to purchasing
them from a wholesale house.

Would you please advise us what could be obtained
from your company which might fit into a shop such as this. I
understand you are disposing of such items and may be interested
in selling some to us for our new venture.

MEMO TO: MR. W. L. SIMS, II
From: Bradley G. Brewer

subjectt: Saddle and Harness Shop Inventory

The attached purchase order #3010, to the Duval Harness & Supply
Company, represents the inventory of said company which we are pur-
chasing for the Saddle and Harness Shop here. The owner, Albert J.
Thomas, has come to manage the shop here and the inventory covers;
items he had in his shop for re-sale.

I might add that in the course of the transaction Mr. Thomas has donated
items in the amount of $1, 355.. 00 to become permanent possessions .of
the commission in the Saddle and Harness Shop.

This shop is one of the newest additions to our area and when you see it
I think you will feel, as we do, that it adds considerably to the atmnoiphere
of the colonial city.
