2. April 12. 1815. On this date, on the "Information of Community Property"
made by Catalina Usina, widow of Sebastian 01iveros, she solicits permission
to sell a house in which the community property consists, e read: ". . I
say to Your Lordship that about eleven years ago my cited husband ammibmm made
a trip to sea from this port to the United States of America in a schooner
belonging to Don Pablo Sabate, who lives here, which boat and crew, according
to the news, perished at the. hands of pirates; ."
3, By the said information we know that the widow went to live At another
house of lesser value, renting the coquina house to Gaspar Arnau, who had
,in it ("un salon corrido abajo") a continuous parlor on the ground floor and
('"otro arriba, sin forro") another upstairs, wkth*wK unfurred, rimnaMimbaimm
and who eventually bought the house paying one thousand, one hundred and
fifty pesos for it because "the Said Arnau operated in the said house a shop
and a way station" uazi and being on a corner, gives him someadvantages."
