Mrs. H. A. Flicknor,
Herndon, Fla.

My dear Mrs. Flloknor:

Thank you very much for the food pledge cards. I regret
that tne food registration for Florida did not turn out as well as
it should nave. This could hardly have been avoided though, when there
have been so many people away for the staurmer. we shall make a special
!rive and a house to house canvass the week of October l1st This
will be done all over the United btaTes, in an effort to make every
state cone up to the mark.

Could you not organize a club in your town You would not
have to have more than ten or twelve members to begin with. You night
have a meeting of your wopln, and present this matter to them. Thep
you could organize and come rignt into the Federation. The Government
now needs the organized efforts of women in the production and con-
servation of food and the elimination of waste, ie should therefore
be well organized, so as to stand in line, and receive orders from head-
quarters, which can be handed on down the line.

With thanks and best of good wishes,

Sincerely,

Pres. F. P'. C.

Mrs. C. i. Lloyd,
Ooala, Pla,

My dear Mrs. Lloyds

Than you so much for cne package of tin foil, The paok-
ages continue to come in, and soon shall have a neat little sum for
the Endowment Fund. The quickest way to save the tin foil, would be
to enlist the services of the school children. Baskets could be
places in the rooms, and the foil collected once a week. This ia the
way in which I have collected the greater portion of what I have on
hand. It will be so hard now, since the war has affected the country,
to get actual money donations, but our fund must keep growing, and this
will be one of the ways, by which we can increase our funds.

I do so appreciate your oo-operation and responsiveness.
It was good of you, as busy as you are to take the trouble to save this
for me. I can appreciate all you feel about the boys. I do so hope
that peave will come before any more of the splendid men of this country
or-of Europe have to be sacrificed.

I trust it may be possible for you to attend the Federation
meeting in Tampa, November 20-23. With appreciation of your splendid
co-operation, and with kindest regards to your family,

Very sincerely,

Mrs. W. A. Jackson,
Tampa, Fla.

My dear Mrs. Jackson:

You will find enclosed a letter which explains itself.
What do you think of this? You know we cannot have any but the best
of talent, and often we are fooled. You know that we shall need an
expert aooompanist.

I know just exactly what you have gone through with, and
can sincerely sympathize with you, I hope the war will come to an
end before any of our splendid men have to be sacrificed, or any more
of those of other countries.

With love and best of good wishes,

Sincerely,

My dear Mrs. Thompson:

I am so glad to hare sour letter of recent date, Fnd so glad
you are taking eteps to seoure a I.laoe of meeting. A olub house, always
makes an organization rure perLianent, andi sO many more thing~ns ru-. be
oondu'tod in a building of one's own.

I utanut just now tell when it will be possible for me to
come to you, and probably not before the Convention in November. I
cortain.ly feel coipliiented that your club has endorsed me for Director
from Florida. I shall odrtainly try to justify their belief in me,
that I shall be able to represent them, and to conduct the great work
of the state. You must remember that any time I can be of service to
you or your club, ple-.se do not hesitate to call on me. I have sent
you a Constitution and By-Laws with which to help with the ulib at
Flordl City. If mrs. Townsend calls on you, I hope you will help with
the organization of this club. We must make a special effort to have
the ten thousand members by november. Every olub should appoint a
membership committee to secure new members for the individual clubs.
We have had eighteen clubs admitted into the Foderation this year.
Ten or twelve members are sufficient in order to organize a club.

With best of good wishes, and assurances of co-operation,

Very sincerely,

Prea. P. F. W. 0 .

Miss Beatrice E. Driver,
Citra, eia..

My dear Miss Driver:

I regret that absence from the city, has made it impossible
for me to tive you the desired information in time to be of any
service to you. If yoi will write to Mr. L. w. Joseelyn, Otate Dirrot-
or of the War Library Oounoil, Jacksonville, he will be able to give
iou all the information you 'dBaire in regard to the library work, as
a trained worker, or as one who wishes instruction with or without
compensation.
I understand that there is a Civto League, or some woman's
organlzation in Citra. The government needs now the organized effort
of women, and all organizations should belong to the state organization
that tley may-ier ready to receive instructions fr-m headquarters, and
pass them on down the line without any delay. There has novor been
a time in the history of the world when the organized effort of woman
has meant so auch to the Government as now. If you will sendl me the
aames of the officers of this organization in Citra, I will write to
them, and try to persuade them to join the rank and file of the .Plorida
Federation. In union there is strength .

With best of good wishes and &baur'anoes of co-operation,

Very sincerely,

I have talked, over the phone, to the aFedcation 2hlirman

Chapter of Red Croas. First appoint a oor(r:ittee of '.wmen to be in charge
of the wool, so there will be none-wasted. Application will have to
be made to the datiornal Cht.pter for-.same, or the girls may- give an
entartairnent, the proceed of which to be usee to buy the wool with.
Miss Rich is an old Rollins girl herself. She says that eaoh chapter
has to raise the Doney with whicb. to buy its own wool, and note is
furni sed from the national organization. Thic work oan be made very
useful ind interesting, and the girls organized into a. Red Cross
