PICTURE PERFECT


Photojournalism senior Tim Hussin covers the Yearning for Zion Ranch in Texas for
the Deseret News during one of his recent internships.
Senior named College Photographer of the Year
Judges from National Geographic Magazine, The Washington Post and
the Minneapolis Star Tribune recently named photoj journalism senior Tim
Hussin as the 63rd College Photographer of the Year (CPOY).
As this year's CPOY, Hussin will do a 14-week paid internship at
National Geographic this summer.

GLOBAL GATORS
Molleda International Educator of the Year
UF's International Center named Juan Carlos Molleda the 2008
International Educator of the Year for the untenured/recently tenured
faculty category.
The award provides $3,000 to assist in international work.
Provost Joe Glover presented the award to this year's honorees at a
reception in November as part of International Education Week.

FlyIns Guatemala exhibit opens Tuesday
Twelve communication students will showcase their photographs and
stories Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the opening of Guatemala In Words andPictures
at "the gallery" on the second floor of the Reitz Union.
The exhibit runs through Dec. 19.

Ernest Champion, 74
Documentary Institute Program
Coordinator Dori Faust's father,
Ernest Champion, passed away on
Nov. 29.
Per his wishes, no service was held.

recognized
The Photo Educators
International Association fall
newsletter features John
Freeman's 2008 Berlin study-
abroad course, along with three
student photographs. Freeman
has conducted the two-week
overseas course for journalism
students since 2005.
STUDENT SUCCESS
WUFT broadcasts
FlyIns stories
WUFT News featured two
Florida Fly-In stories on
Thanksgiving Eve during its 5:30
p.m. broadcast.
The stories were shot,
produced, directed and written by
telecommunication students
Rikki Klaus and Miles Doran.
Doran appeared live during the
broadcast to discuss the stories,
which shed light on hunger and
malnutrition in Guatemala.
