Morris wins best paper, Chan-Olmsted prolific
The American Academy of Advertising's Journal ofAdvertising
recently named "The Six-Construct Model of True Brand Loyalty," by
University of Georgia Prof. Joo-young Kim, Jon Morris, and Joffre
Swait of Advanis and the University of Alberta, Best Conference Paper.
Sylvia Chan-Olmsted will present the two papers she wrote with
doctoral student G. Oba at the seventh World Media Economics
Conference next month in Beijing: "Assessing the international video
marketplace: A longitudinal examination of the environmental factors
affecting the export of US video media goods" and "Video strategy of
transnational media corporations: A resource-based view examination of
global alliances and patterns."
The International Journal on Media Management recently accepted
their "Content development for the third screen: The business and
strategy of mobile content and applications in the United States."
The Journal of Media Economics recently published her "Vertical
integration in the US syndication market."
The Journalism and Mass Communication Educator recently accepted
Johanna Cleary's "From the Classroom to the Newsroom: Professional
Development in Broadcast Journalism."
Justin Brown, doctoral students Sangwon Lee and Jiyoung Cha,
and master's student Drew Bagley made presentations to the National
Cable Telecommunications Association's Academic Seminar in April:
Brown presented "Perspectives on Communications Services &
Lifeline: Results of a Telephone Survey of Florida Households."
Lee presented "The Effects of Competition and Regulation on
Broadband Deployment in the United States."
Cha presented "Competitive Strategy in the New VoIP Market:
The Adoption and Commercialization of VoIP Services by MSOs,

Bagley presented "The Broadcast Flag: A White Flag for Fair
Use?"
Newspaper Research Journal accepted Cory Armstrong's "Typecast-
