For the first month of our new system Amy has come up with the following

activities that need to be done in Gallegos House. We will provide you

with the materials you need to get started and if you find other needs

as you work, let me know and I'll do what I can to supply them.

drawing water--you will need to draw about ten to twelve buckets of water a day from wel:
washing clothes--interpreters will be asked to bring in aprons, shifts, linen
items and maybe some wool that will be washed in cold water and hung on the
fence to dry. The trough will need to be washed out well, of course.

mending clothes--again, interpreters will bring items to be mended or patched
(not all at once of course)

cooking--this will be done only for demonstration purposes at first and only in
small amounts. We will start with the simplest soups such as beans and rice,
lentils and onions and go on to other things as Amy does more research. The idea
is not so much to create a real meal but to provide good smells from the house
and an appropriate activity.

keeping house-on a daily basis you will need to sweep the house, dust and prepare
for the days activities. You may have to go to Imarket" in the deHita House to
get your supplies in a basket on occasion.
On a weekly basis, you should get someone to help you drageethe bedding outside
to be sunned and aired on the loggia.

gardening--you will need to weed the garden completely right uway in order to
prepare it for planting. The plants that are appropriate will be provided for
you to put in and you will be responsible for the garden in every detail. The
maintenance crew won't be working in this one., Watering will be done with
a bucket of well water.

Amy and I will spend a lot of time with you on all of this to get started and
we will be adding activities once a month so it doesn't become drudgery. Have
fun with it and please give us suggestions as you see fit.
