Re: Material I sent on the Martinez-Galleges house.

Added note:

scrituras, No. 70. Sept. 24th, 1787
he WILL ef Lucia Esealena.

Mentions heuse owned by her on LOT ef her
NEPHEW, JOAQUIN MARTINEZ ...

Area: On St. Geerge near land gate which is west boundry.
Lane te Castle Square on the north.
Antenie Perdeme on the seutb.
Castle Square en the east.

Se here is yeur site alright. And it was the MARTIN
MARqINE? GALLEGOS house so why not give the place its
proper title since you have the complete documented
evidence on its occupants new.
It is evident that the JUAN GARCIA Martinez Galleges was a peer
translation.
Added background te both Lucia (or Lusia) Esealena and
Victeria Esealena(Mrs. Martinez Galleges)

I teld you that Victoria was bern 1724(Ph. 95) and that
Lueia was born 1726.(Ph. 139)

Beth were the children of Alense de Escalena and Sebastiana de Va
gas.

Alonse Escalena was born 1695, married about 1721(1 de net
have the marriages between 1720 and 36) but I have a 1721
date by them in the index. He was the seo ef BARTOLOME de
Escalena and Luela Alvarez y Setemayer. his eeuple were
married 1695, Dec. 15.

Barteleme was the sen of Pedre de Escalena and Lucia de Reyna
who were married July 20, 1659 and veiled Feb. 1660.

Se Victoria and Lueia had for father, Alense Escalena, grandfather
Barteleme and great grandfather Pedre de Escalena.

Lucia and Victoria's mother was a de Vasgas. She was Sebastiana
born in 1704 to Sebastian de Vargas of Castile and Franeesea
Genzales. They were married March 23, 1703.

Reg: he house you are planning to re-oenstruct.
No. 75, "E', Puente, 1763

Listed to Juan Garcia Martinez Galleges.

There was but one family of this name:

CP Marriages, Photostat 190:
Martin Martinez Galleges
Monday, July 29, 1743
to
Victoria de Eaolomaa, dt. of Alonso eacaloaa
and Sebastiana de uravgg,
This couple had only 3 children that I knew of:

Joaquin(er Juan) March 22, 1748
Martinez Galleges Juana Susanna, 1745
children: Maria Ascencia, 1750

On the FISH LIST, house of Martin Martinez Gallegos
is entered, (no sale)
And on the Puente map there is NO...Martin Martinez
Galleges, only Juan Garcia Martinez Galleges.
So Juan must be the son above who inherited the
house from his father althe the house was entered
in Fish under the father's name.

It was a masonry house.

Beth de Solis and Mencrief shew a house here.

It is significant that in:

1788 Recque: This site is occupied by Deofa Luisa
de Esealona (Lucia de Escalona at times)
It is now wood.

But Luisa de Esealena and Mrs. Martin Mtrtinez Galleges
were STSTERS! So the sister new occupies the house
or the site of the former Galleges home.
Both girls, Victoria, born Nev. 17, 1724 and
Luisa, born ,ept. 11, 1726 were daughters of
Alonse de Escal*na and Sebastiana de Vargas.
Alense died 1727 during the epidemic.

Census records show Luisa retumkng during 2nd
Spanish times, a widow, 3 slaves. 'ensus 17,86.
No. 12. Census 1793, No. 134.
Luisa married Juan Francisc Verde of Malo rea
Sept. 28, 1744.
