On Saturday, July 26h, join us to spend
the afternoon at Skate Station
Funworks! We will go and play
miniature golf, roller-skate, play arcade
games, rock climb, and more. There is
plenty of food, drinks and ice cream at
the Caf6!

WHEN: Saturday, July 26th. Meet at
the Norman Hall garage at 12:00 PM.
We will probably return around 4:00
PM, or whenever your group wants to.

COST: One attraction: $8
Two attractions: $12
Unlimited: $16
Unlimited + Go-Kart: '
Bring about $5-7 for food/drinks.

On Thursday, August 7t, we will be
giving the CELT, our exit test. There
are no regular ELI classes on this day.
There will be no late exams and no
late students admitted to the exams.
All ELI students are required to attend
and take the test in order to receive a
certificate of completion from the ELI.
Please remember to be on time. If
you arrive late to the test, you will not be
permitted to take it, and you will not
receive a certificate of completion from
the ELI. The schedule is as follows;

quick grammar questions, folks!

Q: What's the between this/these
and that/those?
A: Proximity. If you are standing next
to something or if you have just
mentioned something and you can point
it out directly, you use the first ones. If
you are not close to something or if it's
not within your immediate sight, you use
the second set.

Q: What's the between until and
A: It's the same word, just shortened.
We use the short form usually in
conversation. We use the full word in
formal writing or formal speech.

for Student Voices submissions is fast
approaching. We would like to have
everything in by this coming Friday, July
25th. Submissions can include any
student work that you might like to see
in print. You can submit your entries
for the Voices to your teacher or you may
put them directly in Steve's mailbox in
the ELI Main Office (Room 315)
marked Flocks. Let's see what you can
come up with!
