the United States stands in an "imperial" relationship to
Latin America. First, say how imperialism might persist in
various forms between countries and/or regions even when no
overt, formal political control is involved. Second, apply
your categories of imperialism to relations between the U.S.
and Latin America, and decide to what degree, if any, such a
relationship has been, or is now, imperial. Try to give
examples, either historical or contemporary, in answering
