News & Notes


OER Report of Accomplishments

The OER has completed the first draft of
its annual report outlining data on
externally funded projects and grants
activities. We are pleased to report that
faculty productivity has been sustained
and efforts toward securing external
funding remain active. The OER will
continue to provide the usual array of
services toward this goal.

The following represents a summary of
accomplishments for FY 2009-2010...

*COE faculty members have submitted
80 proposals, requesting over $31 million;
an increase of $11 million from last year

-Faculty members in all schools,
PK Yonge, and the Dean's Area have
submitted proposals as Principal
Investigators
~Our submissions (with COE faculty as PI
or Co-PI) included 10 NSF, 10 US Education
Department, and 1 Spencer proposals

* COE PIs and Co-PIs have had 36
proposals funded, which total over $10
million in new awards


~Faculty members in all schools, PK Yonge,
and the Dean's Area have received new
awards

-1 NSF and 4 US Education Department
proposals (including 1 IES award) have been
newly funded with COE faculty as PI or Co-
PI
-College wide funding increased by $8.5
million to almost $38 million

The final version of OER's annual report
will be available through the OER
website as soon as we receive research
expenditures data from the Contracts
and Grants office.
