OER Report of Accomplishments for FY
2006-2007

At the Spring Faculty Meeting, we reported
this information about the research productiv-
ity of the college.

To date in FY 2006-2007...

*COE faculty members have submitted 52 pro-
posals, requesting more than $24 million

-52 proposals exceeds our total for 2005-2006
-$24 million is nearly twice the total amount
requested in 2005-2006
-Faculty members in all five departments, PK
Yonge, and the Dean's Areas have submitted

*COE faculty have had 20 proposals funded,
which total nearly $6 million in new awards
(not including the Lastinger Center's $5 mil-
lion Kellogg Foundation grant)

-More proposals were funded in 2005-2006,
but new funding exceeds total new funding in
2005-2006 by ~$800K
-Faculty members in three departments, PK
Yonge, and the Dean's Area have received new
awards
-14 USDE, 5 NIH, and 4 NSF proposals have
been funded with COE faculty as either PI, co-
PI, or subcontractor


*We also initiated our training agenda, which
included

-"101" sessions on NSF grant seeking, public
scholarship, grants.gov applications, basic sta-
tistics, RCTs, discourse analysis, regression
discontinuity design, and mixed method re-
search
-43 COE faculty attended Steve Russell's
"Write Winning Grants" seminar
-Troy Saddler was selected to participate in
the follow-up "workshop" portion of the train-
ing

*We also extend our appreciation to the Re-
search Advisory Committee for its excellent
work in...
-Selecting Research Opportunity Fund propos-
als for submission to DSR
-Selecting the 2007 UFRF Professor, Stephen
Smith
-Selecting CRIF Award Recipients
