Dear Jeff:

Once again, on both Mary Castro's and my behalf, I want to thank you
for circulating our proposal for a publication on domestic service in
Latin America and the Caribbean, and the foundation for extending us
the grant.

In checking over the budget with Helen, she tells me that the going rate
for translations is $20-25 in Florida. Our original idea was to have
these translations done in Latin America, but logistically it would be
easier to do it with Latin American graduate students in Gainesville.
So, in the event that you could still reconsider, I am submitting two
revised budgets: "A" with the translations still at $10 per page, and
"B" with the translations at $20 per page.

Helen will be sending you the formal request today so that funds can
be channeled through the Gainesville center. Please list Mary Garcia
Castro as the principal investigator.

Once again, our thanks. I hope to see you at CFNI in Jamaica in
November. All best wishes.
