Farewell Natalia

Natalia Peres is a doctoral -
student at Sao Paulo State fS
University in Botucatu, Brazil.
She spent a month in Dr.
Timmer's lab in 1999 and
returned for 6 months each of \
the last two years. She works
on postbloom fruit drop and
has investigated the activity of
Benlate for control of PFD and i
the potential development of
resistance to that fungicide. Her current work is a molecular comparison of
isolates of Colletotrichum from throughout the Americas to determine the
origin and means of distribution of these fungi. She recently returned to
Brazil to complete work on her degree which she expects to receive in early
2002. Except for visits, she has no plans to return to Lake Alfred, but we are
hoping to continue some cooperative projects in the future.
