Assistant professor of interior design Candy Carmel-Gilfilen
and professor and department chair of interior design Dr.
Margaret Portillo co-authored an article titled
"Developmental trajectories in design thinking: An
examination of criteria for the most recent issue of Design
Studies (number 31 (2010), pgs. 74-91)." This article
focuses on their design pedagogy research using the Perry
scheme of intellectual development.

On Feb. 18, architecture assistant professor Charlie Hailey
delivered an invited lecture at NYU as a part of its
Topographics series. The presentation included work from his
book "Camps," which was recently recognized as an editor's
selection in RIBA Journal and selected by AAUP (for its 2010
Book Show) and AIGA (winner in 50 Books / 50 Covers Design
Competition).

Dr. Hui Zou of the School of Architecture recently published a
new article, "The Philosophical Encounter Embodied by the
Yuanming Yuan," in the Journal of Environmental Philosophy
(Spring 2010), USA.
