f R;. I.; N. KENNEDY, repre6 n-
'. tative from Lake County'
shortly before the Legislabure
opened, in Tallahassee, endorsed,
without qualification the proposed
measure,, sponsored by the Citrus
Growers Clearing House Associa-
tion, to prtevent-shipment of green
.fruit, Lake is the tlhird county-in
the state in citrus production, and
Dr. Kennedy, who has represented
that county two previous terms, has
always maintafned a keen and ac-
tive interest in laws relating to
citrus..
"We have got to do something to
stop this dangerous practice which
will bring disaster to the industry,"
he said. -"Some say green fruit

'any.' millions' o7, dollars.. I .don't
know what the cost may have been,
but It was apparent to all that the
markets'eor many weeks were com-
pletely demoralized."
Discussing the bill which has the
endorsement of all groups in the
citrus -industry, Dr. Kennedy made.
it clear that he will seek to .bring,
to the measure when it comes up
in the general. assembly the same
sympathetic and unanimous ap-
proval that it gained .hen it was
framed. in.Orlando March 9. He
pointed out that every proposal was
unanimotisly approved, 'and.. that
this- approval was given by 'the
green fruit committee of growers
'and shippers from the Citrus Grow-
ers Clearing House, shippers and
giowers 'who were not affiliated
with the'organization, members of
the Flotida.'Legislature from the
citrus area, state and federal of-
ficials whose duties closely identify
them with the enforcement of such
statutes, and three attorneys, high
in the councils of the state,, who
had been most active in preparation
of the measure.
"It seems to me that growers are
