MEMBERS' SONS IN ARMED FORCES

George W. O'Neill, SK 3/c, son of Mr. and Mrs.
George O'Neill of Haines City, Florida is a
member of the U. S. Navy Air Corps.

George is 21 years of age and has been in ser-
vice some 30 months. A native of Florida,
George was born in Haines City and was gradu-
ated from Haines City High School. In 1942
he enlisted in the U. S. Navy Air Corps and
received his boot training at Jacksonville,
Florida.

George is now on actliv duty somewhere in
England.


Pvt. Elmo Roberts, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. M.
Roberts of Zolfo Springs, Florida, is with the
174th Combat Engineers. He is 19 years of age
and has been in service some 15 months. Lsmo
was graduated from Wauchula High School in
1943 and won the American Legion Award for
outstanding citizenship.

At present he is stationed somewhere in the
Philippines.


John V. D'Albora of the D'Albora Packing Company,
Cocoa, was called to active duty in the Coast
Guard at the beginning of the war. His was the
responsibility of organizing and patrolling a
portion of our coast line against possible
saboteurs who might be landed from submarines
during the time subs were so thick along the
coast that shipping had to travel in sight of
the beach. Later he was assigned to Miami
as Port Security Officer for the Seventh Naval
District.

At the left is John DIAl-
bora, Jr., who graduated
from Bolles Academy at
Jacksonville in 1943 and
immediately enlisted in
the Coast Guard.

He was interested in medi-
cal work and is now a
Pharmacist Mate, 3rd Class,
and is stationed at Alameda,
California.
