Grenada, Miss., 5 July 1884

My dear Mrs. Anderson,
Col. Charles C. Jones of Augusta, GA, who takes great interest in Confederate
history is collecting autograph letters of distinguished Confederates & has written for one
of Genl. Anderson. I have some, but they all touch upon matters which I prefer not to
give to the public. Have you one long or short which relates to the war or to our
political condition and has nothing private in it? If so, please send it to me for Col. Jones.
My wife & Courtney join me in love to you all.
