	Abstract:	Original identification: 22 (Joseph Ewan) Chrysobalanus oblongifolius Michx. 23 (Joseph Ewan) Croton punctatus Jacq. Re-determination by Kent Perkins (KP) or J. Richard Abbott (JRA): 22 is now known as Licania michauxii Prance (Chrysobalanaceae); Ewan's Chrysobalanus oblongifolius is an older name. 23 is Croton argyranthemus Michx. (Euphorbiaceae) KP JRA - i concur with both i.d.s here. the leaf shape and petals on the male flowers separate C. argyranthemus from Ewan's C. punctatus.
