Abstract: Wide sashes (yeemy) adorned with cowries and glass beads are worn by male and female Kuba nobles. The typical yeemy has even rows of cowries and blocks of intricate glass beaded designs in contrasting colors of red, blue and white. The mikomingom motif includes a variation on the interlace pattern, imbol.
