Class XI (Meter Reader), Electric Light
Department with effect from 10th
October, 1956.

The Secretary of State has informed
the Governor that the Queen will not
be advised to exercise Her power of
disallowance in respect of the follow-
ing Ordinances:-

No, 6 of 1956-The Rent Restriction
(Amendment) Ordinance, 1956.

No. 17 of 1956-The Lunacy and
Mental Treatment Ordinance, 1956.


27th November, 1956.

The Administrator's Deputy has ap-
proved the appointment of No. 296 Cpl.
Williams, A. R. as Licensing and
Examining Officer in the Colony of
St. Christopher, Nevis and Anguilla,
by virtue of Section 4 (2) of the Vehi-
cles and Road Traffic Ordinance,
No. 20 of 1949 with effect from 16th
November, 1956.

COLONY OF SAINT CHRISTO-
PHER NEVIS AND ANGUILLA.

LAND ACQUISITION ACT 1944.

Declaration dated 26th November,
1956 under section 3 of the Land
Acquisition Act, 1944 (L. Is. Act
No. 11/1944) for the acquisition of
certain lands in the island of Nevis
required for public purposes.

It is hereby declared that the Gov-
ernor in Council with the approval of
the Legislative Council considers that
the lands described in the schedule
hereto should be acquired for public
purposes, namely the preservation
and development of an historic site.

SCHEDULE

All That portion of land on the
Hamilton's House property in the
town of Charlestown in the Parish of
St. Paul in the Island of Nevis con-
taining 627 square yards and bounded
on the North by lands of Dore and
measuring thereon 72 feet on the
South by lands of Trott and measur-
ing thereon 97 feet 6 inches on the
East by the Public Road and measuring
thereon 68 feet and on the West by
the Queen's foreshore and measuring
thereon 68 feet.

1956.
