Nevis and Anguilla, to act as Administrator of the said
Colony.

Michael and Saint George, an Officer
of the Most Excellent Order of the
British Empire, Governor and Com-
[L. S.] mander in Chief in and over the Colony
of the Leeward Islands and Vice Ad-
miral of the same.

Nevis and Anguilla.
GREETING
In exercise of the powers vested in me by paragraph
(2) (a) of Article 1, paragraph (4) of Article 3 and para-
graph (1) of Article 7 of the Leeward Islands Letters
Patent, 1956, 1 do, by this my Instrument under my
hand and the Public Seal, appoint you, the said Wilfred
Ebenezer Jacobs, as from the 22nd day of August, 1956,
during Her Majesty's pleasure, to act as Administrator
of the Colony of Saint Christopher Nevis and Anguilla,
with all the powers, rights, privileges and advantages to
the said office belonging or appertaining.
II. And except when the Governor and Comman-
der in Chief of the Leeward Islands (hereinafter called
the Governor) being present in the said Colony shall
think fit so to do in place of the Administrator, you shall
administer the Government of the said Colony AND you
are hereby empowered while you are administering the
Government of the said Colony to do all things within
the Colony that belong to the Office of Governor, other
than exercise the powers vested in the Governor by
Articles 5, 6 and 7 of the said Letters Patent and the
power, vested in the Governor by Article 17 of the said
Letters Patent, of pardoning persons sentenced to death,
AND you shall in the discharge of the functions of your
office conform to and observe all such instruc-
tions as Her Majesty or the Governor may from time to
time see fit to give you.

III. And I do herebs command all and singular Her
Majesty's Officers, Ministers, and loving subjects in the
said Colony and all others whow it may concern, to take
due notice hereof, and to give their ready obedience
accordingly.

the Government House, this 18th day
of August, 1956, and in the filth year of
Her Majesty's reign.

No. 9 of 1956.


An Ordinance to provide for the services
of the Presidency of Saint Christopher
Nevis and Anguilla for the financial
year commencing the 1st January and
ending the 31st December, 1956.

ENACTED by the Legislature of Saint
Christopher Nevis and Anguilla as follows:-


Short Title.


Appropriation.











Sums charged
on General
Revenue.


1. This Ordinance may be cited for all
purposes as the Appropriation Ordinance,
1956.

2. There shall be and there is hereby
granted to Her Majesty the Queen for and
during the period from 1st January, 1956 to
31st December, 1956 inclusive, the sum of
Five million five hundred and ninety-nine
thousand four hundred and seventy-seven
dollars over and above the sums granted and
provided under the Acts and Ordinances in
force in the Colony and this Presidency, to
be applied and expended in the manner and
for, the services set forth in the Schedule
hereto.
3. The said sum of Five million five hun-
dred and ninety-nine thousand four hundred
and seventy-seven dollars shall be, and the

same is hereby declared to be charged upon
and made payable from and out of the
General Revenue and other funds of the said
Presidency.
Authority to 4. The Treasurer of the said Presidency
pay. is hereby authorized and required from time
to time upon the order or warrant of the
Governor to pay the several sums appropri-
ated by and in the said Schedule to the
several services therein mentioned, as the
said order or warrant shall direct, out of the
General Revenue and other funds of the said
Presidency without further order or for-
mality.
