It is hereby notified for general in-
formation that His Excellency the
Governor has approved, under section
19 (1) (b) of the Pensions Act, No. 12
of 1947, that officers who hid hitherto
elected to remain under the provisions
of Cap. 130 may now revoke such elec-
tion and may opt to come within the
provisions of the Pensions Act, No. 12
of 1947. as amended, provided that they
are under the age of fifty-five years on
the 31st August, 1955, and that such
option is exercised in writing not later
than that date.

2. Officers who elect to come with-
in the provisions of the 1947 Pensions
Act, as amended, will be subject to all
the provisions of that Act, including
section 8 under which an officer may
be required to retire at any time after
he attains the age of fifty-five years.

AID TO PIONEER INDUSTRIES ORDINANCE, 1951
(No. 9 of 1951)

NOTICE
In pursuance of the requirements of section 3 (2) (a) of the Aid
to Pioneer Industries Ordinance, 1951 (No. 9 of 1951), it is hereby
notified for general information that the Governor in Council pro-
poses to make the undermentioned Order under section 3 (1) of the
said Ordinance. Any person who objects to the making of such
Order shall give Notice in writing of his objection and on the
grounds on which he relies in support thereof to the Clerk of the
Executive Council on or before the 25th day of May, 1955.

ORDER MADE BY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL
UNDER SECTION 3(1) OF THE AID TO PIONEER
INDUSTRIES ORDINANCE, 1951 (No. 9 of 1951).
1. This Order may be cited as the Aid to Pioneer Industries
(Manufacture of rum) Order, 1955.

2. The manufacture of rum is hereby declared to be a pioneer
industry for the purposes of the Aid to Pioneer Industries Ordin-
ance, 1951 (No. 9 of 1951), and rum is hereby declared to be a
pioneer product for the said purpose.


Made by the Governor in Council this day of
1955.
